Angelfire and Tripod are now permanently banned

Published at

Starting today, websites hosted on either Angelfire or Tripod are no longer permitted on Cloudhiker. That's a very unfortunate development and sadly, many wonderful old websites will be lost forever. But both providers have shown that they are unable to reliably host websites. Every now and then, the websites are either displayed broken or the servers do not respond at all.

Additionally, they inject advertisements without proper privacy handling and ignoring any GDPR ruling. Thus, all websites must be considered illegal in the European Union and probably some other regions. Cloudhiker tries to minimize data usage and does not share personal data with third parties at all, except for payment handling being done by Paddle.

Considering both circumstances, websites hosted by those two providers no longer align with Cloudhiker's philosophy. A ban on both is therefore inevitable.
